While Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become two of the most well known days for holiday shopping, Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday following Cyber Monday) aims to change the way Canadians think about the holiday giving season. Giving Tuesday will mark a national day dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live, work and play.
Today, Twins Plus Association of Brampton asks you on behalf of MBC, that you consider giving to Multiple Births Canada in one of three important ways:
*Make a gift to support MBC's programs, projects and services that help multiple-birth individuals and their families.
*Volunteer to help one of our Affiliate Chapters at the local level or MBC at the national level for a few hours, few days or in an on-going position. MBC relies on the kindness, dedication and passion of hundreds of volunteers across Canada to offer the support needed in the multiple-birth community.
*Create Awareness - please share information about MBC's participation in the Giving Tuesday movement and about Multiple Births Canada (and our Chapters) with your friends, family and co-workers through social media, word of mouth or in any way you can.
Each year more than 12,000 multiple-birth babies are born in Canada. While multiple births represent just over 3% of all Canadian births, they account for 28% of all Canadian preterm births. Through your financial gift TODAY you will make it possible for MBC to offer outreach, resources, support, services and education to multiple-birth individuals and families, as well as those professionals who support them.
TODAY IS GIVING TUESDAY!! We hope you will take part in this national movement by taking a moment to participate in one of the three ways listed above, in support of Multiple Births Canada.
How Will You Help?
Your donation on Giving Tuesday will help Multiple Births Canada:
*Offer services such as MBC's toll free number, website, and the creation of new publications.
*Support the development of projects such as the NICU Project - You Are Not Alone! - a campaign to reach new parents of multiples with preterm babies.
*Create public relations tools such as posters and pamphlets, allowing for new and expectant parents to find help as soon as they learn they are expecting multiples.
